Food box delivery
Yesterday, on Holy Thursday, the sole employee of our social project delivered 60 food boxes to help most vulnerable families, including families with two or three children. We also gave food boxes to some Venezuelan families who are living in tents bordering the Palomino river, in very precarious conditions. Near 40% of the poorest families living in the little town are from Venezuela. Most of these families entered Colombia by roads as the border is very close.
The next delivery is scheduled for April 23rd depending on restrictions regarding COVID19. This time, we will buy food in Santa Marta where we found a cheaper provider. So, for the same price we will be able to include healthy vegetables in the food boxes.
It is important to highlight that the motorbike of our employee suffered a mechanical failure and that this brave man finished the food boxes delivery with a wheelbarrow. In the attachment, you will see a picture testifying his high involvement in our social work.
I warmly thank you for your support giving us the opportunity to help these extremely deprived families with this sanitary crisis and being confined in their home without food.
